Members of NJEA, NJREA and NJEA Preservice have full access to the NJEA Convention at no cost. It is a benefit of membership.
All badges will be issued onsite at the Convention Center upon arrival.
Yes. The membership processing area in Hall D will be open on Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Nonmembers pay an admission fee based on how much access they wish to have to the convention. The fee covers both Thursday and Friday. There is no discount for attending only one day. Nonmembers may not bring guests.
Nonmembers may purchase their admission badges in the box office located in the atrium or register and pay in advance at NJEAConvention.org. Nonmembers who register on-site will receive a certificate of attendance at the box office when they receive their admission badge. Nonmembers who register in advance will receive their certificate of attendance when they pick up their badge at the box office.
Admission may be paid on-site by credit card (Visa and MasterCard only) or cash. Checks are not accepted.

Note that while the Exhibit Floor closes at 3 p.m. on Friday, workshops continue until 4:30. Please make sure to check your schedule carefully. An alphabetical list of workshops begins on Page 29. A detailed index of workshops listed by time begins on Page 58.

While parking is available at the Convention Center, it quickly fills to capacity and closes by 9 a.m. Alternate parking options can be found on Page 79 of this program.
Included among the parking options is Atlantic City High School from which you can take a shuttle to the convention center. Shuttles leave every 15 minutes between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday. Remember to make allowances for Atlantic City traffic patterns.

Look for coat check on the second floor of the convention center. The charge is $3 per item.

Go to the information booth on Main Street NJEA, which is in the middle of the Exhibit Floor. Lost children will be escorted to the information booth.
New Jersey law provides certain school employees—teaching staff members, secretaries, and office clerks—the opportunity to be absent from school for the purpose of attending the convention.
N.J. Statute 18A:31-2 states, “Whenever any full-time teaching staff member or any secretary or office clerk applies to the board of education for permission to attend the Annual Convention of the New Jersey Education Association, such permission shall be granted for not more than two days in any one year; and they shall receive full salary for days of actual attendance upon filing with the secretary of the board a Certificate of Attendance, signed by the Executive Secretary of the Association.”
All attendees, both NJEA members and nonmembers who pay for admission, will receive a Certificate of Attendance when they receive their Convention Badge upon registration at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The Certificate of Attendance will be printed on the back of each convention badge. Guests do not receive certificates of attendance.
KiddieCorp, now in its 30th year of providing excellent child and youth services nationwide will provide a comprehensive menu of activities for children ages 3-14. The KiddieCorp team is committed to the motto of “safety first, but fun a close second!” While parents enjoy the 2016 NJEA Convention activities, children will join the KiddieCorp party with a wide variety of games, crafts, and other activities geared toward fostering friendships new and old.
Activities include exciting themes, arts and crafts, group games, music and movement, board games, story time, dramatic play, etc. Activities are appropriate for each age group, using safe and sturdy equipment. Children make their own choices within KiddieCorp’s program.
Camp NJEA is for children ages 3-14. Children must be toilet trained to be admitted.
Parents and guardians must provide lunch upon checking their children into the program, or provide meals during the day. KiddieCorp will provide only snacks and beverages.

All registrations must be completed online. The advance registration deadline is Oct. 27. Register early as availability is limited and handled on a first-come, first-served basis. KiddieCorp must receive both the registration/consent form and payment in full to hold any advance reservations. You are also welcome to register on-site, however, there is no guarantee space will be available, and it is not recommended.
